How far in advance should I make the reservation?

The majority of cruises advertised on our website sell out quickly due to the high level of service and inexpensive pricing. We recommend that you make your reservation as soon as possible, especially if you plan to go during the high season, which runs from September to December. You will save time and effort by planning your trip ahead of time.

I am a vegetarian. Can I request a vegetarian meal on board?

Most cruise lines accept vegetarian meal requests. Please tell us of your dietary requirements at least 48 hours in advance, preferably while reserving your reservation.

Which payment methods are accepted?

You can pay us using one of the following methods:

  • Credit cards: You can securely make credit card payments on our website well in advance of your trip.
  • Bank transfer: For big sums of money, you can request a bank transfer to save transaction fees. Please email us for our bank information.
  • Cash: You can pay us in cash, and we will collect it at your hotel or preferred meeting location upon mutual arrangement.

Note: Please keep in mind that any bank card transactions and fees are the responsibility of the payer. To keep costs low for you, we waive the credit card fee (3% of the deposit) for all online bookings. If the balance is over $300 USD, a 3% card processing fee will be charged.

What is the minimum age requirement for infants to sail on a cruise in Halong Bay?

There are no rigorous age requirements for infants on board. However, we recommend that the minimum age for a newborn to be comfortable on a cruise voyage is 6 months old.

Infants under the age of four are free on board, provided they are accompanied by at least two adults. Only specified areas provide baby cots, and you must order them at least three days before departure.

What forms of entertainment are available onboard?

It totally depends on the cruise you’re on. Most will have entertainment facilities in the shared room, such as a DVD player, television, chessboard, and some board games. Because the boat tour lasts only two or three days, you will not have enough time to become bored in Halong Bay.

You can find a list of activities available on each trip to Halong Bay on our website.

Any cruise offers spa services?

A spa is an exclusive service that not many cruise lines offer due to its premium nature and the limited space on board most junk ships. Currently, these cruises offer spa services on board: the Orchid Cruise and the Aspira Cruise.

Does the cruise cost include transportation from Hanoi to Halong Bay?

It depends on the cruise you are considering. All luxury cruises exclude the expense of transfer service; nonetheless, the majority provide a shuttle bus that picks you up and drops you off at your hotel for a very reasonable fee. Some deluxe and exceptional cruises, such as the Glory Cruise and the Phoenix Cruise, already include transfers in the price.

Would it be feasible to arrange a cruise for 2 days/1 night during the Tet holiday?

During holidays like Christmas, New Year’s, and Tet, ship capacity can fill up rapidly. If you plan to travel at this time of year, we recommend that you book your cruise as early as possible.

The following cruises frequently plan great activities for Tet, so you should check them out: Glory Cruise, Indochina Sails, and V’Spirit

Should I spend one or two nights in Halong Bay?

The answer is determined by your financial situation and available time. We highly recommend booking a two-night cruise if you have enough time and can afford the lengthier option. Here are some of the cited reasons:

  • You’ll have more time to spend on the boat and feel less harried on the journey between Hanoi and Halong Bay. Many travelers say that their biggest concern about having a two-day trip is that they must drive for four hours on both the first and second days.
  • A 2 night trip will allow you to explore further parts of the Bay, such as Lan Ha Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, Cat Ba Island and experience different activities like swimming, kayaking, boat rowing, trekking (in Cat Ba National Park), etc., that a 1 night cruise cannot otherwise offer On the second day of the voyage, most ships use a day boat to transport you to Halong Bay’s most remote caves and beaches. There will be more time for kayaking and swimming as well.
Will I get picked up at my hotel in Hanoi?

Each cruise has its unique transfer policy: some include it in the price, while others demand an additional fee for transfer.

If you arrange a shuttle bus transfer, you will only be picked up from your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter (only some cruises pick up from the West Lake region, such as the Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake or the Sheraton Hanoi). If you stay outside of these areas, you will need to take your taxi to our office or the cruise office to be picked up. Another option is to book a private transfer. (Notable hotels outside of the Old Quarter include Lotte Hotel Center and JW Marriott, to mention a few.).

What should I carry with me on board?

Sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellents, wide-brimmed hats, swimming suits, warm clothes for winter, and your original passport are recommended for check-in. If you are traveling with small children, candies, picture books, mini-games, and learning tools may be useful.

How long does it take to reach Halong Bay?

The distance from Hanoi to Halong Bay is approximately 175 kilometers. Traveling by shuttle bus takes approximately 4 hours, whereas traveling by private automobile takes 3.5 hours one trip. The journey from Hanoi to Halong may have traffic jams, so please leave extra time.

Can I order kids’ meals and specific dietary foods?

Yes, you can. Most cruises in Halong Bay can gladly accommodate any specific demands. But please tell us ahead of time so we can prepare the best lunch for you and your family.

Do we have to pay an entry fee when visiting caves?

No, you do not. We already include admission fees and sightseeing tickets in your cruise vacation booking; you won’t incur any additional costs.

Are drinks and beverages included with a cruise?

No, they don’t come with any cruise packages. Meals are often included, and each cabin comes with complementary bottles of mineral water. Some cruises may provide free tea and coffee with meals, but additional beverages will be charged.

If I am pregnant, may I still go on a cruise?

Should you be pregnant, we encourage you to schedule a thorough visit with your doctor. Your doctor may say you can go; then, you can. If you are more than thirty-two weeks pregnant, however, we advise you to postpone your trip, as the cruise ship still calls for some light exercise, such as climbing up and down or boarding and offloading.
